What we collect
- Account: the phone number or email you sign in with,
display name, date of birth, gender, country, and photos you upload.
- Usage: call history (time and duration), messages and
photos in chat, your credit balance and spending record.
- Technical: a device identifier used to send you
notifications, and technical error logs from calls.
What we do NOT do
- We do not record calls — video or audio. Video and audio
travel directly between the two devices. When the network does not allow a
direct connection, traffic passes through a relay server, but it is never
stored anywhere.
- We do not sell your data to anyone.
- We do not use your data for targeted advertising.
Device permissions
- Camera and microphone — used only during a call.
- Photo library — only when you pick a profile photo or
send a picture.
- Location — read once at sign-up to pre-fill your country.
We do not track your location.
Who can see your data
Your name, photo, age, gender and country are visible to other people in the
app. Messages can be read only by the person you send them to. Our operations
team can view reported content, for the sole purpose of handling that report.
Deleting your data
Go to Profile → Account settings → Delete account. This
immediately deletes your account, wallet, messages, photos and follow
relationships. We retain two things: transaction records (an accounting
obligation) and abuse reports other people have filed about you — if deleting an
account also erased the reports, a harasser would simply open a new one.
Children
HiCalling is not directed at anyone under 18 and we
do not knowingly collect data from minors. If you believe a minor has an
account, write to us and we will remove it.
